Connect a custom domain to your site
The domain stays with your registrar. You add its records at your DNS provider, and HTTPS is set up for you.
Open the Domains tab
Custom domains need a paid plan. In your dashboard, open Sites, choose the site and go to Domains. A site exists once you have chosen its address.
Add the domain
Under Connect your own, type the name, such as
www.yourbrand.com, and press Connect. It joins the list with the exact DNS records to add.Add the records
Copy each record to your DNS provider. A bare domain such as
yourbrand.comneeds ALIAS or CNAME flattening there.Wait for it to connect
The row moves from Needs DNS to Verifying to Connected as the records are found and the HTTPS certificate is issued. It checks on its own, and Check now checks straight away.
Make it primary
Press Make primary so search engines and shared links use this address. Your builder.website address keeps serving the site too.
Questions
How many domains can I connect?
Custom domains start on Starter (US$9/mo) with 1, up to 10 on Studio. See pricing.
Can I transfer my domain in?
No. Transfers in are not supported. A connected domain stays with your registrar, and only its DNS records point here.
What if it says Not connected?
Check the records against the ones in the row, correct them at your DNS provider and press Check now.
